We are thrilled to share the heartwarming success of our recent Share the Warmth initiative, where the Immanuel youth group came together to spread love and kindness to those often overlooked in our communities.

This March, we launched our first project under this initiative, focusing on bringing warmth and encouragement to the residents of Elizabeth Knox Home and Hospital, a facility providing home and hospital-level care.
Understanding the significance of light and warmth, our youth volunteers handcrafted beautiful candles as symbols of hope, reflection, and care. These candles, housed in elegant glass jars generously discounted by Mercy Hospice, were delicately decorated with dried flowers, lovingly donated by Britomart Florists. Each candle was accompanied by a handwritten note, reminding the residents that they are seen, valued, and cherished.
Delivering these gifts was an incredibly humbling and moving experience. The joy and gratitude reflected in the eyes of the residents affirmed the impact of small acts of kindness. This project would not have been possible without the dedication of our youth volunteers and the generous contributions from our community partners.
At Reconnect, we believe in the power of meaningful service to uplift both the giver and the receiver. Initiatives like Share the Warmth provide youth with the opportunity to engage in acts of kindness, fostering a culture of empathy and care. As we look ahead, we are excited to continue creating opportunities for young people to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
